Stacy's Story
 |
“Stay positive and assured that you are capable of quitting. It’s about finding the right way for you.”

Stacy smoked 10 cigarettes per day through college and has been quit now for four years. Mostly, she smoked to help deal with stress and for social reasons. Through those years she learned to love to smoke her brand of cigarettes and found that she enjoyed smoking. She quit for health and money reasons. She would especially notice that during the winter she would have serious trouble breathing. Her brand of cigarettes cost her four dollars a pack and that couldn’t fit in to her after college budget. To quit, she cut down over a series of weeks and then went cold turkey- her situation was lucky, she moved to a place where she couldn’t smoke and all of her friends had quit, so social smoking was no longer a problem. Overall, she is very happy about it. She has been able to save lots of money and loves that she no longer smells like cigarettes.
